The Miller WeldX Performance Welding Jacket (SKU: 247114) represents a significant advancement in personal protective equipment for industrial welding applications. Engineered by Miller Electric, this jacket utilizes proprietary WeldX fabric technology to offer a high-performance alternative to traditional leather welding jackets. The garment is constructed with a 7-ounce WeldX fabric on the front and sleeves, areas most susceptible to direct spatter and sparks. This specialized material is designed to repel molten metal and sparks effectively, ensuring that the fabric does not burn, melt, ignite, or shrink under intense thermal conditions. This level of protection is critical for maintaining operator safety during MIG and Stick welding processes where spatter is prevalent.

To address the common issue of heat stress in industrial environments, the jacket features a hybrid design. While the front provides heavy-duty protection, the back is constructed from 9-ounce flame-resistant navy cotton. This strategic material placement, combined with a vented back design, significantly improves airflow and breathability, reducing operator fatigue during long shifts. The sleeves are lined for added thermal insulation and protection, ensuring that the arms remain shielded from radiant heat. The jacket also includes a barracuda-style stand-up collar, which provides essential coverage for the neck area, protecting against arc rays and stray sparks.

Durability and functionality are central to the design of the Miller 247114. The garment features finished hems and reinforced stitching to withstand the rigors of daily industrial use. A zipper closure, protected by a Velcro storm flap, prevents sparks from entering the jacket while ensuring a secure fit. For added convenience, the jacket includes an accessible inside pocket for storing small tools or personal items. Notably, the WeldX fabric is chromium-free, making it an environmentally friendlier option with easier disposal methods compared to chrome-tanned leather. The jacket is machine washable, retaining its flame-resistant properties through multiple wash cycles, which simplifies maintenance and extends the lifecycle of the PPE.

Miller WeldX Performance Welding Jacket (Small) – 247114 The Miller WeldX Performance Welding Jacket (SKU: 247114) represents a significant advancement in personal protective equipment for industrial welding applications.
