The Miller 245661 Bracket is a specialized mounting component designed specifically for the throttle solenoid assembly within select Miller engine-driven welding power sources. In the context of internal combustion engine welders, the throttle solenoid plays a critical role in the auto-idle and engine speed governance systems. It mechanically actuates the throttle lever to adjust engine RPM based on the current load demand or to return the engine to idle when the arc is broken. This bracket serves as the structural anchor for that solenoid, ensuring it remains fixed relative to the engine block and carburetor or injection pump.

Constructed from durable materials capable of withstanding the high-vibration environment of a running industrial engine, this bracket maintains the precise geometric alignment required for the solenoid linkage to operate without binding. Engine-driven welders are often subjected to harsh field conditions, including thermal cycling and constant mechanical vibration. Over time, fatigue can compromise mounting hardware. A compromised bracket can lead to solenoid misalignment, resulting in erratic engine speeds, failure to idle down (wasting fuel), or failure to rev up (preventing welding). Using the genuine Miller 245661 ensures that the replacement part meets the original engineering specifications for tensile strength and fatigue resistance.

Installation of this OEM part guarantees that mounting holes align perfectly with the engine’s hard points and the solenoid’s housing. This eliminates the need for field fabrication or modification, which is often required when attempting to use generic mounting solutions. For maintenance personnel and industrial electricians responsible for the upkeep of fleet welding equipment, utilizing genuine OEM parts like the 245661 bracket is essential for maintaining the reliability and longevity of the power source’s control systems.
