The Miller 240696 Glow Plug is a critical component designed specifically for Kubota D1105 diesel engines, which are commonly utilized in high-performance Miller engine-driven welders. In diesel engines, the combustion process relies on the compression of air to generate sufficient heat to ignite the fuel. However, in cold environments or when the engine has been sitting idle, the cylinder block absorbs much of this heat, preventing ignition. This glow plug acts as a heating element within the pre-combustion chamber, warming the air and fuel mixture to facilitate immediate and smooth starting.<\/p>\n
Manufactured to precise OEM specifications, this glow plug ensures optimal electrical resistance and thermal conductivity. Using non-OEM replacements in Kubota engines can lead to uneven heating, potential swelling of the plug tip, or electrical system strain. The Miller 240696 is engineered to withstand the high compression and thermal cycling inherent in industrial welding generators. Regular inspection and replacement of glow plugs are essential for maintaining the longevity of the starter motor and battery, as they reduce the cranking time required to start the machine.<\/p>\n
