The Miller 229887 Replacement Liner is a critical component engineered specifically for the XR-Aluma-Pro Series MIG guns. In the realm of aluminum welding, the integrity of the wire feeding path is paramount. Aluminum wire, being softer and more pliable than steel, is highly susceptible to friction, buckling, and “bird-nesting” if the conduit liner is compromised or clogged. This 15-foot liner provides a pristine, low-friction channel that ensures the welding wire travels smoothly from the feeder to the contact tip, maintaining a stable arc and consistent weld bead profile.<\/p>\n
Manufactured to Miller’s exacting standards, this conduit liner is designed to withstand the rigors of industrial environments while protecting the delicate aluminum wire. Over time, liners can accumulate aluminum shavings, dust, and lubricant residues, which increase drag and lead to erratic feeding. Replacing the liner is a standard maintenance procedure that restores the gun’s performance to factory specifications. This specific model is tailored for 15-foot cable assemblies, ensuring a perfect fit without the need for modification or trimming in standard setups.<\/p>\n
