The Miller 226704 is a specialized control transformer (XFMR) engineered specifically for Miller Electric industrial welding power sources. As a critical component in the power regulation architecture of welding machinery, this transformer is responsible for stepping down high-voltage primary input power into a lower, usable voltage for the machine’s internal control circuits. It features a versatile multi-tap primary winding that accepts 230V, 460V, or 575V inputs, making it adaptable to various industrial three-phase and single-phase power environments commonly found in manufacturing and fabrication facilities.<\/p>\n
On the secondary side, this transformer delivers a stable 24V output, which is the standard voltage required for operating printed circuit boards (PCBs), relays, solenoids, and wire feed motors within the welding unit. With a power rating of 110 VA (Volt-Amperes), it provides sufficient capacity to drive these control loads reliably without voltage sag. The unit is designed for 60 Hz operation, aligning with North American power standards. The construction of the transformer typically involves high-grade copper or aluminum windings and electrical steel laminations, impregnated with varnish to resist the vibration, moisture, and thermal cycling inherent in heavy-duty welding operations.<\/p>\n
