The Miller 225616 Plasma Drag Shield is a critical consumable component designed for the ICE-27C and ICE-27T plasma torches, commonly found on the Miller Spectrum 375 and Spectrum 375 X-TREME plasma cutting systems. Engineered to meet the precise specifications of Miller Electric, this drag shield ensures optimal performance and longevity of your plasma cutting equipment. In industrial MRO applications, maintaining the integrity of the torch assembly is paramount for consistent cut quality and operator safety. The drag shield serves a dual purpose: it electrically isolates the nozzle from the workpiece to prevent double-arcing, and it mechanically sets the optimal standoff distance for the plasma arc.

Rated for 27 Amps, this shield is specifically calibrated for the output characteristics of the Spectrum 375 series. By allowing the operator to drag the torch tip directly along the metal surface, it stabilizes the torch movement and reduces operator fatigue, which is particularly beneficial during long cutting operations or when following templates. The shield is manufactured from high-grade copper alloy, providing excellent thermal conductivity and resistance to the intense heat generated during the plasma process. Regular inspection and replacement of the drag shield are recommended to prevent damage to the torch head and to maintain the efficiency of the gas flow dynamics.

For procurement specialists and facility managers, sourcing genuine OEM parts like the 225616 ensures compatibility and reliability. Non-OEM substitutes often lack the precise dimensional tolerances required for the ICE-27 torch’s gas swirl and arc constriction, potentially leading to premature failure of the electrode and nozzle. This package contains one single drag shield, ready for immediate installation. It is an essential stock item for any maintenance department supporting Miller plasma cutting operations.

[2052,2053

post-1770842","product","type-product","status-publish","product_cat-plasma-accessories","product_cat-plasma-consumables","pa_brand-miller","pa_item-heat-shield","pa_item-shield-cap","pa_packaging-description-1-per-each","pa_packaging-description-1of-1","pa_weld-process-plasma","first","onbackorder","taxable","shipping-taxable","purchasable","product-type-simple
