The Miller 223710 is a high-quality, enclosed relay designed specifically for the demanding electrical environments found within industrial welding equipment. Manufactured to Miller Electric’s rigorous OEM specifications, this component serves as a critical switching element in various power and control circuits. The relay features a 12 VDC coil, making it compatible with standard low-voltage control logic systems used in modern welding power sources. Its primary function is to manage higher current loads up to 25 Amps based on low-voltage signals, ensuring safe and reliable machine operation.

Technically, this unit is configured as a Double Pole Single Throw – Normally Open (DPST-NO) device. This means it controls two separate circuits simultaneously (Double Pole) and closes the circuit only when the coil is energized (Normally Open). When power is removed from the coil, the contacts return to their open state, cutting power to the load. This fail-safe configuration is essential for safety interlocks and power management in welding machinery. The “Enclosed” designation indicates that the electromechanical contacts are housed within a protective plastic shell, shielding them from metallic dust, grinding debris, and atmospheric contaminants common in fabrication shops.

Installation is facilitated by a 6-pin layout and a dedicated flange mounting bracket. The flange mount is particularly important in welding equipment, which can be subject to significant vibration during transport or operation; it allows the relay to be bolted securely to the chassis, preventing it from shaking loose. The 6-pin connection points are designed to mate correctly with the machine’s existing wiring harness or socket, ensuring a proper electrical interface without the need for modification. Using genuine Miller parts like the 223710 guarantees that the resistance, pull-in voltage, and drop-out voltage match the original engineering design of your welder.

Genuine Miller 223710 Enclosed Relay Overview The Miller 223710 is a high-quality, enclosed relay designed specifically for the demanding electrical environments found within industrial welding equipment.
