The Miller 221504 Potentiometer is a high-quality, genuine OEM replacement component designed for precision control in Miller welding power sources. As a critical element in the electrical control circuitry of your welding machine, this potentiometer ensures accurate adjustment of parameters such as voltage, wire feed speed, or amperage, depending on the specific machine configuration. Manufactured to Miller Electric’s exacting standards, this part guarantees compatibility and longevity, restoring your equipment to its original factory performance specifications.

Technically, this component is a 1,000 Ohm (1K) linear taper potentiometer. The linear taper specification means that the resistance changes at a constant rate as the shaft is rotated, providing predictable and smooth adjustments across the entire range of the dial. This is essential for welders who require fine-tuning of their arc characteristics. The unit is rated for 2 Watts of power dissipation, ensuring it can handle the electrical load within the control circuit without overheating or degrading over time. The “1T” designation typically refers to a single-turn mechanism, allowing for quick adjustments from minimum to maximum settings.

One of the key features of the Miller 221504 is its Standard Slot shaft design. This industry-standard configuration ensures that existing knobs can be easily reattached, or standard replacement knobs can be used if necessary. Furthermore, this potentiometer comes pre-assembled with leads. The inclusion of these wires significantly simplifies the installation process, eliminating the need for delicate soldering directly onto the potentiometer terminals in tight spaces. This “plug-and-play” readiness reduces downtime during repairs.
