The Miller 221485 is a precision-engineered oil pressure switch designed specifically for the protection and monitoring circuits of Miller engine-driven welding equipment. This component plays a critical role in the safety shutdown systems of industrial engines, ensuring that operation ceases or a warning is triggered when oil pressure falls below the safe operating threshold.<\/p>\n
Technically, this unit is calibrated to actuate at 4 PSI. It features a Normally Open (NO) contact configuration, meaning the circuit remains open until the pressure threshold is met, or conversely, it closes\/opens depending on the specific logic of the control board it is mated to (typically closing on pressure rise to complete a run circuit, or opening on pressure fall to break a latching circuit). The mechanical interface is a 1\/8-28 BSPT (British Standard Pipe Taper) thread. It is imperative to verify thread compatibility, as BSPT threads differ in flank angle (55 degrees) compared to NPT threads (60 degrees), and interchanging them can lead to thread damage or fluid leaks.<\/p>\n
