The Miller 206986 is a specialized swivel caster designed specifically for use with Miller welding equipment running gear and cylinder carts. As an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) component, this caster is engineered to meet the precise load-bearing requirements and dimensional specifications of Miller’s industrial machinery. The unit features a 5.00-inch diameter wheel with a 1.250-inch face width, providing a substantial contact patch that improves stability and weight distribution across shop floors.

Structurally, the wheel utilizes a composite design comprising a rigid polymer (poly) hub and a resilient rubber tread. The poly hub offers high impact resistance and structural integrity without the weight or corrosion susceptibility of steel hubs. The rubber tread is essential for industrial environments; it provides shock absorption to protect sensitive internal welder components from vibration during transport and offers a non-marring surface that will not damage finished floors. The material combination is resistant to common shop chemicals, oils, and coolants, ensuring a long service life even in harsh fabrication environments.

The mounting interface is a threaded stem measuring .500-13 (1/2-13 UNC). This standard coarse thread allows for secure, bolt-on installation directly into the chassis or base of compatible running gear. The swivel assembly incorporates a bearing raceway that facilitates 360-degree rotation, allowing operators to navigate tight corners and position equipment precisely within a workspace. When replacing casters on welding power sources, it is critical to verify the stem size and load rating to ensure safety; the Miller 206986 is the authorized replacement to maintain the equipment’s factory safety standards.
