The FC0010812TB Safety Curtain is an essential safety barrier designed for professional welding environments where arc flash containment and bystander protection are paramount. Measuring 8 feet in height and 12 feet in width, this large-format curtain provides substantial coverage, making it ideal for creating dedicated welding cells, separating production lines, or shielding large workpieces. The curtain is manufactured from high-quality, translucent yellow vinyl, a material specifically engineered to filter out harmful ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) radiation generated during the welding process. By effectively blocking these hazardous wavelengths, the curtain prevents “arc eye” and skin burns among passersby and other workers in the vicinity, ensuring compliance with workplace safety regulations.

Unlike opaque canvas or leather barriers, the translucent yellow composition of this screen allows ambient light to penetrate the workspace. This feature serves a dual purpose: it prevents the welder from feeling isolated in a dark, confined space, and it allows safety supervisors to visually monitor the welder’s progress and well-being without entering the hazardous zone. The material is also formulated to resist sparks, light spatter, and abrasion, ensuring it maintains its integrity even in active fabrication shops. While not designed for direct contact with molten slag (like a silica cloth), it serves as an excellent vertical barrier against flying debris and optical hazards.

A standout feature of this specific model is the inclusion of grommets on both the top and bottom edges. Standard curtains often only feature top grommets, leaving the bottom loose and susceptible to movement from drafts, ventilation systems, or passing traffic. The bottom grommets allow the user to secure the curtain to a floor rail, weight it down, or tie it off to vertical posts, creating a taut, stationary barrier that does not billow or flap. This securement is critical in maintaining a consistent safety perimeter. The hems are reinforced with double stitching to prevent the grommets from tearing out under tension, guaranteeing a long service life in demanding industrial MRO applications.
