The Fairview 2011-D is a specialized gas fitting designed to facilitate secure connections within propane (LPG) distribution systems. As a critical component in the piping and fittings category, this coupling features a Female POL (Put-On-Left) connection on one end and a 1/2-inch National Pipe Taper (NPT) Male thread on the other. The Female POL connection corresponds to the CGA 510 standard, which is the industry benchmark for propane cylinder valves and regulator connections. This specific configuration allows technicians to adapt Male POL fittings—commonly found on the inlet stems of regulators or the ends of flexible pigtails—directly into a 1/2-inch rigid pipe system or manifold block.

Manufactured from high-grade solid brass, the 2011-D offers superior mechanical strength and resistance to dezincification, a common issue in lower-quality alloys exposed to environmental factors. Brass is the material of choice for fuel gas fittings due to its non-sparking properties and excellent machinability, which results in cleaner, sharper threads. The NPT threads on this unit are tapered to create a tight seal by compressing the flanks of the threads as they are tightened, although the use of a gas-rated thread sealant or PTFE tape is recommended for the NPT side to ensure a hermetic seal. The POL side typically relies on the geometry of the mating male connector (often a bullnose) to create a metal-to-metal seal or compress an O-ring, depending on the specific male fitting design.

In industrial MRO applications, the Fairview 2011-D is essential for constructing custom gas trains, repairing heating systems, or setting up temporary gas supply lines. Its robust design withstands the vapor pressure of stored propane, ensuring safety and compliance with relevant gas codes. Whether used in a permanent installation or a mobile service setup, this coupling provides the reliability required for handling flammable gases.

[2030,2869

post-1760987","product","type-product","status-publish","product_cat-oxy-fuel-equipment","product_cat-uncategorized","pa_application-cylinder-connection","pa_application-gas-distribution","pa_gas-type-lpg","pa_gas-type-propane","pa_material-brass","pa_packaging-description-1-per-each","first","onbackorder","taxable","shipping-taxable","purchasable","product-type-simple
