Welding at high amperages generates intense radiant heat that can penetrate even the thickest leather gloves, causing discomfort to the operator and accelerating the degradation of the glove material. The High Heat Rayon Hand Shield is the ultimate solution for welders facing these extreme conditions. Designed to be worn directly over your existing welding gloves, this shield acts as a thermal barrier, reflecting radiant energy away from the back of the hand.

Constructed from durable aluminized rayon, the pad is engineered to withstand the harsh environment of industrial welding. The aluminized surface is highly effective at deflecting the infrared radiation produced by the welding arc, which is the primary source of heat buildup during MIG and Flux-Cored welding processes. By keeping the back of the hand cooler, welders can maintain focus and steady hand control for longer periods, directly improving weld quality and productivity.

Welding gloves are a significant consumable cost in any fabrication shop. Constant exposure to high heat causes leather to dry out, shrink, and eventually crack, rendering the glove useless even if the palms and fingers are still intact. This hand shield serves as a sacrificial layer, taking the brunt of the heat and spatter. By protecting the structural integrity of the glove underneath, you can significantly extend the service life of your premium welding gloves, resulting in long-term cost savings.

The “Coolhand” style shield is designed with versatility in mind. It features an elastic attachment system that allows it to fit securely over virtually any size or style of welding glove, from standard stick gloves to heavy-duty MIG gloves. The lightweight rayon material ensures that the shield does not add unnecessary bulk or weight, preserving the dexterity required for precise torch manipulation. Whether you are working in a foundry, a shipyard, or a heavy fabrication plant, this hand shield is an essential accessory for safety and comfort.

Fabric Hand Shield helps protect welding gloves from high radiant arc heat while welding.

Fits over any glove.
[1970,1971

post-1752061","product","type-product","status-publish","product_cat-gloves-leather-sleeves-aprons","product_cat-gloves-leathers-sleeves-aprons","pa_item-heat-shield","pa_material-aluminized","pa_material-n-a","pa_material-rayon","pa_packaging-description-1-per-each","pa_size-n-a","pa_size-one-size","first","instock","taxable","shipping-taxable","purchasable","product-type-simple

Extend the Life of Your Gloves
