The Weldcraft WC-4-22 Cable Cover is an essential accessory for professional welders and industrial maintenance operations utilizing heavy-duty TIG torches. Designed specifically to accommodate the bulkier cable assemblies of high-amperage torches like the Weldcraft WP-12 and WP-27 series, this cover provides a robust shield against the daily hazards of the welding environment. The cover measures 22 feet (6.7 meters) in length, making it ideal for standard 25-foot torch packages where exposed connectors at the machine end are required, or for fully covering custom-length assemblies.

Unlike traditional rubber or vinyl covers that can crack or melt, or leather covers that can become stiff and heavy, the WC-4-22 is constructed from high-performance woven nylon. This material is selected for its exceptional tensile strength and resistance to abrasion. In a busy shop, torch cables are frequently dragged across concrete floors, metal gratings, and sharp edges of fabricated parts. The woven nylon acts as a sacrificial layer, absorbing this wear and tear so that the expensive gas hoses and power cables inside remain intact. Additionally, the material is breathable and resistant to mildew, ensuring longevity even in humid environments.

One of the standout features of the WC-4-22 is its full-length zipper closure. This design consideration addresses a common pain point in welding maintenance: the difficulty of retrofitting cable protection. With the zippered design, there is no need to disconnect the torch from the welding machine or disassemble the torch head. The cover simply wraps around the existing cable bundle and zips closed, securing the lines in a neat, manageable package. The ends of the cover are reinforced to prevent the nylon from fraying and to provide a durable anchor point for securing the cover to the torch handle and machine connectors.

When laid flat, the cover boasts a width of 4 inches, which translates to a functional diameter of approximately 1-3/4 inches when zipped around a cable bundle. This generous diameter ensures it can house the multiple lines associated with water-cooled torches—including power cables, water in/out lines, and gas hoses—without compressing them or restricting flow. The lightweight nature of the nylon material ensures that the addition of the cover does not significantly alter the balance or feel of the torch, preserving operator precision.

[1999,1985

post-1751909","product","type-product","status-publish","product_cat-cable-covers","product_cat-welders-accessories","pa_diameter-1-3-4-in","pa_length-22-ft","pa_material-woven-nylon","pa_packaging-description-1-per-each","first","instock","taxable","shipping-taxable","purchasable","product-type-simple
