The Aquasol EZ Zone Tape (SKU: EZ-ZT4.0) is a specialized aluminum foil tape designed for the rigorous demands of industrial pipe welding and fabrication. Engineered to act as a purge gas retainer, this tape is an essential consumable for welders working with reactive metals such as stainless steel, titanium, and aluminum. The tape is constructed from a 3 mil (75 micron) soft aluminum foil which provides excellent conformability to irregular surfaces and pipe circumferences, ensuring a hermetic seal that prevents oxygen contamination during the root pass.

A critical feature of the EZ Zone tape is its adhesive formulation. It utilizes a high-temperature resistant acrylic adhesive that is certified halogen-free and chlorofluorocarbon-free. This chemical purity is vital for preventing the introduction of impurities into the weld pool, which could otherwise lead to cracking, porosity, or corrosion issues in high-specification applications like nuclear power generation, petrochemical processing, and food and beverage facility construction. The adhesive is designed to hold firmly during the purging process but release cleanly upon removal, minimizing post-weld cleaning requirements.

This 4-inch wide variant allows for broad coverage over weld seams and root gaps, effectively trapping noble gases (such as Argon) within the pipe interior. By creating a localized purge chamber or sealing the ends of pipe sections, the EZ Zone tape significantly reduces the volume of purge gas required, leading to substantial cost savings. It serves as a modern, efficient alternative to cumbersome mechanical purge dams for specific joint configurations and is compatible with a wide range of pipe diameters.

Fiback® Aluminum Weld Backing Tape is a substitute for traditional back purging methods and provides protection to the backside of the weld environment and ensures a high quality finish.
[1975,1985

post-1751528","product","type-product","status-publish","product_cat-tools-wrenches-power-tools","product_cat-welders-accessories","pa_application-purge-gas-retaining","pa_application-weld-joint-sealing","pa_brand-aquasol","pa_brand-techniweld","pa_item-miscellaneous","pa_item-n-a","pa_length-75-feet","pa_material-aluminum-foil","pa_packaging-description-1-of-each","pa_packaging-description-1-per-each","first","onbackorder","taxable","shipping-taxable","purchasable","product-type-simple
