In the demanding world of aluminum fabrication and mobile welding, the ability to adjust wire feed speed (WFS) directly at the gun is a game-changer for productivity. Over time, the potentiometer—the electrical component behind the speed dial—can wear out due to constant adjustment, dust ingress, or mechanical stress. When this happens, operators may experience erratic wire feeding, dead spots in the speed range, or a complete loss of remote control capability.

This genuine Lincoln Electric assembly (often referenced with base part number S26374-14) is engineered to factory specifications to ensure a seamless repair. Unlike generic electrical components that may not match the resistance curve or physical dimensions of the original, this OEM part guarantees linear, predictable speed adjustments. It comes as a complete assembly, typically including the potentiometer unit and the necessary wiring harness or connectors required to interface with the spool gun’s internal circuitry. This simplifies the repair process, ensuring that technicians can get the equipment back into service quickly and reliably.

Maintaining the integrity of your Magnum 250 LX is essential for achieving high-quality welds, particularly when working with soft aluminum wires that require precise feed rates to prevent burn-back or bird-nesting. A functioning potentiometer allows the welder to fine-tune the arc characteristics on the fly, adapting to changes in joint geometry or position without stopping to adjust the machine. By replacing a faulty unit with this authentic Lincoln part, you ensure that the tool continues to perform at the high standard expected of professional industrial equipment.

Key Technical Benefits

Exact Electrical Match: Calibrated resistance ensures the dial position corresponds accurately to the wire feed speed.

Durability: Built to withstand the vibration and thermal cycling common in handheld welding torches.

Integrated Wiring: Pre-terminated connections reduce the risk of wiring errors during installation.

[2040,2036

post-1751106","product","type-product","status-publish","product_cat-machine-repair-parts","product_cat-welding-machines-fume-extractors","pa_brand-lincoln","pa_packaging-description-1-of-each","pa_packaging-description-1-per-ea-2","first","onbackorder","taxable","shipping-taxable","purchasable","product-type-simple

Lincoln Magnum 250 LX Wire Feed Speed Potentiometer Assembly - Josef Gas

<meta name="description" content="Restore control to your Magnum 250 LX Spool Gun with this genuine Lincoln Electric Wire Feed Speed Potentiometer Assembly.
