The 3M Speedglas 9100 FX-Air Welding Helmet with Adflo Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) represents a pinnacle in personal protective equipment for professional welders. Designed to meet the rigorous demands of heavy industry, this system integrates high-performance respiratory safety with superior optical clarity and versatility. The core of the system is the Adflo PAPR unit, a compact and lightweight blower that draws air through a high-efficiency (HE) particulate filter, delivering a constant stream of clean, filtered air to the breathing zone. This positive pressure seal helps block surrounding contaminants, significantly reducing exposure to metallic fumes and particulate matter.

The helmet assembly features the 9100 FX-Air shell, distinguished by its flip-up front mechanism. This design allows operators to seamlessly transition between welding and grinding tasks without removing their respiratory protection, maintaining compliance and safety throughout the workflow. The included 9100XX Auto-Darkening Filter (ADF) offers the largest viewing area in the 9100 series (2.8 x 4.2 inches), providing an expansive field of view that enhances precision and reduces the need for constant head movement. The ADF supports a wide range of shade settings (5, 8, 9-13), making it suitable for virtually all arc welding processes, including low-amp TIG.

Operational efficiency is further boosted by the inclusion of a Lithium-Ion battery. Compared to older NiMH batteries, the Li-ion power source is significantly lighter, reducing the overall weight burden on the user’s waist, and charges faster to ensure readiness for multi-shift operations. The ergonomic suspension system of the helmet is engineered to distribute weight evenly, minimizing neck strain during prolonged use. For facility managers and safety officers, the 3M Speedglas 9100 FX-Air is a strategic investment in worker health, regulatory compliance, and long-term productivity.

3M Adflo Powered Air Purifying Respirator High Efficiency System with 3M Speedglas Welding Helmet 9100 FX-Air, 36-1101-30SW.

Lithium Ion Battery.

Side Windows.

Auto-Darkening Filter 9100XX, Shades 5, 8-13.
