The 3M Speedglas Headband Assembly Kit (05-0660-00) is a critical replacement component designed to extend the service life of your existing welding helmet. Engineered by 3M specifically for the Speedglas line, this assembly ensures that your personal protective equipment maintains the rigorous safety and comfort standards required in industrial environments. This kit is the direct replacement for the suspension systems found in the Speedglas 9000, 9002, 100, SL, and Utility series helmets.

Over time, the moving parts of a welding helmet’s suspension can wear down due to constant adjustment, sweat, and heat exposure. A worn headband can lead to helmet slippage, which compromises the welder’s vision and safety. This assembly kit provides a complete overhaul of the helmet’s retention system. It features a robust ratchet mechanism that allows for precise sizing adjustments, ensuring the helmet stays securely in place even when the welder is working in out-of-position scenarios.

The kit includes not just the headband strap but also the necessary mounting hardware to attach it securely to the helmet shell. This ensures a factory-correct fit that does not void the helmet’s safety certifications. For procurement managers and safety officers, stocking these replacement assemblies is a cost-effective strategy to maintain a fleet of helmets without incurring the cost of full unit replacements.

Compatibility and Installation
