The Walter 13G404 4-inch Knot Twisted Wire Cup Brush is an industrial-grade abrasive tool designed for the most demanding surface cleaning applications. Engineered by Walter Surface Technologies, this brush represents the pinnacle of wire brush performance, specifically tailored for use on angle grinders with a 5/8″-11 spindle. It is the ideal solution for professionals in metal fabrication, construction, and maintenance who require aggressive material removal on large, flat surfaces.

What sets the 13G404 apart from standard wire cup brushes is its integrated safety supporting ring. In high-speed grinding applications, centrifugal force typically causes wire filaments to splay or “flare” outwards, reducing the cleaning pressure and potentially creating safety hazards. The supporting ring on this model constrains the wires, maintaining a tight, dense knot formation. This ensures that the aggressive cutting action is focused directly on the workpiece, significantly increasing the removal rate of rust, scale, and paint while extending the overall life of the brush.

Durability is at the core of the Walter 13G404. The brush is constructed using top-quality oil-hardened and tempered steel wires. This specialized heat treatment process gives the wires exceptional resilience and resistance to fatigue, preventing premature breakage even under heavy loads. The .020″ wire diameter provides the stiffness necessary for heavy-duty scrubbing without being brittle. Furthermore, each brush is precisely balanced during manufacturing to ensure smooth, vibration-free rotation. This balance not only improves the finish quality but also reduces wear on the power tool and minimizes operator fatigue during extended use.

This knot-twisted cup brush is specifically designed for aggressive brushing action. It excels at removing heavy encrustations, slag, weld spatter, and corrosion from steel structures, plates, and machinery. Whether you are preparing a surface for painting, cleaning up after a welding job, or performing maintenance on heavy equipment, the Walter 13G404 delivers consistent, high-performance results. Its threaded arbor allows for fast and easy tool changes, keeping downtime to a minimum in busy industrial environments.

For use with Angle Grinders – these are knot-twisted with a safety supporting ring for heavy duty brushing such as deburring, weld edge cleaning, spatter, heavy rust, corrosion and removal of scale.
[2000,2008

post-1750743","product","type-product","status-publish","product_cat-abrasives","product_cat-cup-wheel-and-cup-brushes","pa_arbor-in-5-8","pa_brand-walter","pa_brush-type-cup-brush-with-ring","pa_diameter-in-882","pa_packaging-description-1-in-a-pack","pa_packaging-description-1-per-each","pa_used-to-grind-steel","pa_wheel-style-twist-knot","first","onbackorder","taxable","shipping-taxable","purchasable","product-type-simple
