OVERVIEW

High-Performance E6013 Electrode for General Fabrication

The Lincoln Electric Fleetweld 37+ is a premium E6013 stick electrode designed for high-speed welding on mild steel. Engineered with a high-titania (rutile) coating, this electrode delivers a smooth, stable arc that is exceptionally forgiving, making it suitable for a wide range of applications from light gauge sheet metal to general maintenance and repair. The 4.0mm diameter configuration is optimized for medium-to-heavy material thicknesses, providing excellent deposition rates while maintaining control.

Operational Efficiency and Versatility

One of the defining characteristics of the Fleetweld 37+ is its ability to operate effectively on power sources with low open-circuit voltage (OCV). This makes it universally compatible with a broad spectrum of welding machines, including smaller AC buzz boxes and industrial DC rectifiers. The electrode performs in all welding positions—flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead—and is particularly noted for its excellent performance in the vertical-down position. The slag system is designed to be self-releasing or easily detachable, significantly reducing post-weld cleaning labor and downtime.

Weld Quality and Aesthetics

For applications where visual appearance is critical, the Fleetweld 37+ excels by producing a flat to slightly convex bead with fine ripples and a clean finish. It offers shallow to medium penetration, which helps minimize burn-through on thinner sections or when bridging gaps in poor fit-up scenarios. The electrode initiates the arc easily, including restrikes, which improves operator efficiency during tacking operations or intermittent welding tasks.

Technical Specifications

Meeting AWS A5.1 E6013 standards, this electrode provides reliable mechanical properties for non-critical structural work. It is formulated to handle rust and surface contaminants better than low-hydrogen alternatives, although proper surface preparation is always recommended for optimal results. The 4.0mm size typically operates within an amperage range of 110A to 160A, allowing for flexibility depending on the base metal thickness and joint configuration.
