The Arcweld 7018-1 528MR is a premium quality, low hydrogen stick electrode designed for the shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) of carbon and low-alloy steels. This specific variant features a 4.0mm (approx. 5/32 inch) diameter, making it suitable for filling joints in medium-to-heavy plate thicknesses. The electrode conforms to AWS A5.1 specifications, carrying the E7018-1 classification. The "-1" suffix indicates enhanced impact properties, ensuring the weld metal retains toughness at temperatures as low as -45°C (-50°F), which is critical for structural applications in cold environments or dynamic loading scenarios.

One of the defining characteristics of the 528MR series is its Moisture Resistant (MR) coating.
