The Bonarc 7018-1 is a high-quality, moisture-resistant stick electrode designed for critical welding applications requiring superior mechanical properties. Classified under AWS A5.1 as E7018-1, this electrode is distinguished by its exceptional impact toughness at low temperatures (typically tested at -45°C), making it a preferred choice for industries operating in harsh environments or requiring strict code compliance. The 2.5mm diameter is ideal for precision work on thinner sections or for root passes in heavy structural fabrication.



Engineered with a basic coating enriched with iron powder, the Bonarc 7018-1 delivers high deposition efficiency and excellent radiographic soundness. It is specifically formulated to weld carbon and low-alloy steels, including those with higher carbon contents or impurities that might otherwise be susceptible to cracking. The low hydrogen content in the weld metal significantly reduces the risk of hydrogen-induced cracking (cold cracking), ensuring the integrity of the joint under high stress.



This electrode operates effectively on both Direct Current Electrode Positive (DCEP) and Alternating Current (AC), providing versatility across different power sources. It is widely utilized in the fabrication of pressure vessels, offshore structures, heavy machinery, and shipbuilding. Storage and handling should follow standard low-hydrogen practices; electrodes should be kept in a dry environment or holding oven to maintain their low moisture characteristics and prevent porosity.
