OVERVIEW

High-Efficiency Mild Steel Welding Electrode

The Bonarc 7014 is a premium quality, iron powder, titania-type stick electrode designed for high-speed welding of mild steel. Classified as AWS E7014, this electrode is engineered to provide excellent arc stability and superior deposition rates compared to standard cellulosic or rutile electrodes. The addition of iron powder to the coating assists in maintaining the arc and contributes extra metal to the weld pool, resulting in faster travel speeds and increased productivity for industrial fabrication.

This 4.0mm (approx. 5/32") electrode is versatile enough for all-position welding, although the larger diameter is most efficient in flat and horizontal fillet welds. It features outstanding restrike characteristics, making it suitable for tacking and intermittent welding operations. The slag coverage is complete and often self-releasing, leaving a clean, smooth bead with fine ripples that requires minimal post-weld cleaning. It operates smoothly on AC, DCEN (Straight Polarity), and DCEP (Reverse Polarity), providing flexibility across various power sources.

Ideally suited for structural applications where fit-up may be imperfect, the Bonarc 7014 bridges gaps effectively while maintaining mechanical integrity. With a minimum tensile strength of 70,000 psi, it meets the rigorous demands of general construction, machine bases, and heavy sheet metal fabrication. Storage recommendations include keeping the electrodes dry; however, they are less sensitive to moisture pickup than low-hydrogen counterparts.
