The Bonarc 7014 3.2mm Stick Electrode is a high-speed, iron powder titania type electrode designed for the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) process. Engineered for general purpose fabrication, this electrode is characterized by its heavy coating containing iron powder, which significantly increases the deposition rate compared to standard E6013 or E6012 electrodes. This feature allows for faster travel speeds and improved productivity in manufacturing environments.

One of the primary technical advantages of the Bonarc 7014 is its versatility in current compatibility. It operates exceptionally well on both Alternating Current (AC) and Direct Current (DC), either electrode positive or negative. The arc characteristics are smooth and quiet, with medium to shallow penetration, making it an excellent choice for welding sheet metal or applications where burn-through is a concern. The electrode produces a flat to slightly convex bead profile with fine ripples, ensuring a professional finish with minimal post-weld grinding required.

The slag system of the Bonarc 7014 is designed for easy detachment; in many cases, the slag is self-peeling as the weld cools. This reduces cleanup time and labor costs associated with slag chipping. While it is an all-position electrode, it performs exceptionally well in flat and horizontal fillet welds where its high deposition capabilities can be fully utilized. It is widely used in the fabrication of storage tanks, structural frames, machinery guards, and general maintenance repairs where fit-up may not be perfect, as the rod handles poor fit-up conditions effectively.
