The Bonarc ER316L MIG Wire is a high-performance austenitic stainless steel welding consumable designed for joining AISI 316 and 316L base metals. This wire is formulated with a specific chemical composition comprising approximately 18% Chromium, 12% Nickel, and 2-3% Molybdenum. The addition of Molybdenum is critical for industrial applications, as it significantly enhances the weld metal's resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, particularly in environments containing chlorides or halides. This makes it the preferred choice for welding components exposed to marine atmospheres, chemical processing salts, and acidic media.

One of the defining characteristics of this ER316L wire is its "Low Carbon" designation (indicated by the 'L'). With a maximum carbon content restricted to 0.03%, this wire effectively mitigates the risk of carbide precipitation at the grain boundaries during the welding process. This feature is essential for maintaining the corrosion resistance of the weld zone without the need for post-weld heat treatment (solution annealing), thereby preventing intergranular corrosion (sensitization) in service. The wire meets AWS A5.9 specifications, ensuring consistent mechanical properties and metallurgical integrity.
