The Bonarc ER308L TIG Rod (1.6mm) is a high-performance filler metal engineered for the precision welding of austenitic stainless steels. Conforming to AWS A5.9 specifications, this rod is specifically formulated with an "Extra Low Carbon" (L-grade) composition, typically containing a maximum of 0.03% carbon. This metallurgical characteristic is critical for industrial applications as it significantly reduces the susceptibility to intergranular corrosion and carbide precipitation, which can occur in the heat-affected zone (HAZ) of standard 308 grades.

Designed primarily for joining base metals of similar composition—such as AISI 304 and 304L—this filler metal contains nominally 18% Chromium and 8% Nickel. This 18/8 composition ensures that the weld deposit matches the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of the base material. It is also suitable for welding stabilized grades like AISI 321 and 347 in moderate temperature service conditions. The 1.6mm diameter offers excellent control for thin-to-medium gauge materials, making it a versatile choice for pipe welding, sheet metal fabrication, and maintenance operations.
