The Victor CA2462+ (SKU: 0381-1932) represents the second generation of the heavy-duty Plus Series cutting attachments, engineered to meet the rigorous demands of industrial metal cutting. This specific model features a 180-degree head angle, often referred to as a straight head, which is essential for applications requiring direct, in-line cutting access where angled heads may be obstructed or less efficient. Designed for compatibility with the Victor 315FC+ heavy-duty welding handle, as well as other 300 series handles, this attachment integrates seamlessly into existing Victor oxy-fuel setups.

Technically, the CA2462+ is built around a die-forged brass head, providing exceptional resistance to heat and mechanical stress compared to casting methods. The internal gas mixing system utilizes a spiral mixer, a proven design that efficiently blends oxygen and fuel gases—whether acetylene, propane, or propylene—ensuring a stable preheat flame and clean cut. The attachment boasts a cutting capacity of up to 8 inches (203 mm) when equipped with the appropriate Series 1 cutting tips, making it suitable for structural steel fabrication, demolition, and heavy maintenance operations.

Maintenance and serviceability have been significantly improved in the Plus Series. The mixer assembly is accessible via a single nut removal, simplifying cleaning and repair procedures. Furthermore, the connection to the torch handle features a redesigned brass coupling nut with a double O-ring seal. This design eliminates the need for wrench tightening, as indicated by the absence of wrench flats, thereby preventing overtightening damage to the seating surfaces. An internal snap ring retains the coupling nut, protecting the O-rings from abrasion and exposure during storage or handling.
