The Miller XR-A Aluma-Pro™ Plus (301574) is a premium 25-foot air-cooled push-pull MIG gun designed specifically to conquer the challenges of feeding aluminum and other soft alloy wires. Engineered for heavy-industrial applications, this gun integrates seamlessly with Miller's Intellx™ wire feeders and select Millermatic power sources to deliver flawless wire feeding performance. With a robust 300-amp output rating at 100% duty cycle (using CO2), it provides the power and reliability needed for demanding fabrication environments such as shipbuilding, trailer manufacturing, and sign production.

One of the standout features of the Aluma-Pro Plus is its ability to feed wire at speeds up to 900 inches per minute, significantly faster than previous generations. This speed is controlled via a precision 3-3/4 turn potentiometer located directly on the gun handle, allowing operators to make fine adjustments to wire feed speed without returning to the machine. The control is recessed to prevent accidental changes while remaining easily accessible, even when wearing heavy welding gloves. The gun also features a unique wiping trigger action that keeps contact points clean, ensuring a reliable electrical connection every time you strike an arc.

Maintenance and serviceability are at the core of the XR-A design. The gun utilizes a full-length Velcro-seamed leather jacket that protects the cable while allowing for easy access. The head tube is rotatable and self-seating, allowing welders to position the nozzle into tight corners or difficult angles without compromising current transfer or gas coverage. Furthermore, the drive assembly is easily accessible, and the feed cable liner is replaceable, reducing parts costs and service time compared to guns requiring complete cable replacements.
