Rated at 250 Amps, this gun is engineered for high-performance fabrication environments, offering a 100% duty cycle when using CO2 shielding gas and a 60% duty cycle with mixed gases. The 12-foot cable assembly provides adequate reach for standard bench work and medium-sized fabrication cells while maintaining optimal wire column stiffness.
Central to the MDX-250's performance is the AccuLock™ MDX consumable system. This proprietary system is designed to streamline maintenance and enhance arc stability. The contact tip and diffuser thread together to form a concentric alignment with the liner, which significantly reduces the risk of burnback and micro-arcing within the front end. Furthermore, the system features an error-proof liner trimming mechanism; the liner locks into place at the front of the gun and is trimmed flush with the power pin at the rear, eliminating the measurement errors that frequently lead to gaps or compressed liners—the primary causes of erratic feeding.
