The Anchor Welper YS-50 represents a specialized class of hand tools engineered specifically for the maintenance and operation of GMAW (MIG) and FCAW (Flux-Cored) welding guns. Manufactured from drop-forged carbon steel, this tool is designed to withstand the rigorous thermal and mechanical environments typical of industrial welding stations. Unlike generic pliers, the metallurgy of the YS-50 is selected to maintain edge retention on the wire cutter and structural integrity of the jaws even after repeated exposure to high-heat components like gas nozzles and contact tips.

Functionally, the YS-50 integrates eight critical operations required for MIG gun upkeep. The primary jaws are precision-machined with a circular grasp to securely hold and unscrew gas nozzles without deforming them, a common issue when using standard pliers. Inside the jaw, a smaller, toothed section is specifically calibrated for the removal and installation of contact tips, ensuring tight electrical contact without stripping threads.
