The Pferd 46119 POLICAP Abrasive Cap is a premium abrasive tool designed for the most demanding industrial grinding applications. Part of the POLICAP line, this cap features Shape C geometry—cylindrical with a radius end—making it exceptionally versatile for working on contours, fillets, and hard-to-reach areas where traditional grinding wheels cannot fit. The cap measures 10mm in diameter and 15mm in length (often referenced as approx. 3/8" x 5/8" in imperial contexts) and is engineered to fit securely on matching reusable rubber holders.

At the core of this abrasive cap is a high-performance Ceramic Oxide grain. Unlike standard aluminum oxide, ceramic grain is self-sharpening; as the grain fractures, it exposes new, sharp cutting edges, maintaining a high cut rate throughout the product's life. This is critical for productivity in automated or manual grinding operations involving hard materials.

A defining feature of the 46119 is the CO-COOL active grinding additive. This specialized top coating is formulated to lower the grinding temperature significantly. By reducing friction and heat generation, it prevents the heat-tinting and discoloration often seen on Stainless Steel (INOX). Furthermore, it prevents the loading and chip adhesion that typically plague operations involving heat-resistant nickel- and cobalt-based alloys (such as Inconel® and Hastelloy®), commonly found in turbine construction and aerospace manufacturing.
